Shining a light into the community…
The Beacon Centre is a community centre run with a Christian ethos by the ‘Beacon Centre Trust’. We aim to be a place of hope and encouragement to the people of St. Mellons.
The Centre is a community building with a total floor space of 1300 sq meters with rooms available for hire for community and business purposes and also runs a whole host of activities throughout the week designed for kids to seniors.
The History of The Centre
The first phase of the Beacon Centre was officially opened by the Right Honourable Rhodri Morgan in September 2005 and since that time has been working to develop this resource so that it can become a valuable community resource for all St Mellons community and much wider afield.
The centre was the brought into being by the tireless work of a group of trustees, headed by the Rev Paul Houiellebecq. They saw the need for a community resource for this area of St Mellons that could be used by the community but also be accessed by those outside the community.
Celebrating 10 Years
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary as we continued to provide a thriving facility for the community.
The Future and Beyond…
There are plans for the second stage of the Beacon Centre building project. Stage 2 includes the development of an auditorium suitable for hosting events, church services or conferences for up to 300 people.
